MC / Event

MC / MODERATION / EVENT PRODUCTION SUPPORT

On stage, hosting an event

ON STAGE — MC / MODERATION

Shaping what gets through
takes more than words.

Beyond MC and moderation, I also take on the information design, run-of-show and operational support an event needs.

SCOPE

Run-of-show design / Run of Show / Operational documents
Staff operation planning / Event Handbook
On-the-day support

Making

TOOLS / CREATIVE CODING

I make the tools I wish existed for communicating —
from ones that work on site, to pieces made as work in their own right.

1

Rundown Builder — run-of-show generator

2026

Enter the order of proceedings and it works out the start and end time of each item, the total running time and the gap against your intended finish — then drafts the MC script itself. It is the way run-of-show sheets are built in broadcasting, moved into the browser. It also checks how long a script takes to read aloud.

2

Interactive Event Handbook

2026

Operational information for an event, designed as a web handbook staff can check from their phones. Instead of handing out a thick manual, each person sees just what they need, when they need it.

3

Event Operations Base Sheet

2026

A single editable workbook for running a 300-guest, one-day event: overview, goals, venue, equipment, staffing, run of show, operations manual and a debrief — eight sheets in all. It behaves like a spreadsheet, and once the blanks are filled in it becomes the brief the crew works from on the day.

4

Queue-free Check-in

2026

Check-in for an event with 190 guests. The guest list lived in a delivery SaaS whose API allows sixty calls a minute, and each check-in took five or six of them — a ceiling of twelve people a minute. I moved the roster to the edge each morning so the staff screen answers on the spot, and let the write-back to the SaaS catch up afterwards.

Bluebell Hollow

2026

A recreation of an English bluebell wood I saw some years ago.
Not one photograph or generated image — the trees, the flowers, the light and the sound are all drawn in code.
